Sometimes I feel that storylines are over used without being unique. Miss you felt all to similar to One Day and One Day in December. It's not the best in my opinion when you feel as though you have seen this story before. Miss You was the weakest of the three, or least likeable. I felt nothing for the characters and little for the story. I felt as if the development was lacking and the characters seemed very young (they were teenagers to begin). Maybe if it had been delivered as a young adult book, it may have worked better than it did for me.

It was only until the end that I felt like both Tess and Gus were somewhat developing as a person, but for a large portion of the book it felt like they constantly saw themselves as the victims of their own lives, with all of the other characters (who sometimes fell a bit flat for me) in the book never being quite good enough for them, which became a bit frustrating after some time. I liked the pacing of the book and the fact that you really got to know all of their lives over such a large amount of time and I also liked the way that Tess' grieve was represented in this book, it felt very realistic. Although I did think that the negative events happening in both the main characters lives were a bit too much and dramatic, I did enjoy reading the book as I was curious about finding out how both Tess and Gus end up. The romance part of the book felt extremely rushed and way too gushy but it didn't even leave me that unsatisfied as they met so far at the end of the book that I stopped caring about the romance part altogether quite quickly. Despite the fact that the plot mainly focuses on the (failing) relationships of both characters, I wouldn't really call it a romance novel as the main romance felt like an afterthought
