The plot was very interesting and the found family was cute.  Definitely grotesque details plentiful but it worked with the story.  Their romance was sweet.

MMC is endearing, FMC is unbearable. This is not an exaggeration; her mom wanted to prevent her daughter from marrying and passing on the family curse, so she raised FMC to be as brash and rude as possible:
“Dahlia had a reputation of being a horrendous bitch.”
“She’d purposely raised her daughter to be unmarriable”
“My mother confessed to trying to raise me to be unlovable”

Also whatever 20-something nonsense this is:
“They were Necromancers not Necromessers.”
“Broke girl life, struggle bus.”

I absolutely love this book! It has a little bit of all the good stuff. Found family, touch her/him you die. A strong FMC. I really enjoyed this book so much!

"oh yes. He coveted her smiles dearly. Sebastian Rosemont would collect Dahlia Grayskull, one way or another"

When I die I hope to find myself a part of Sebastians collections. I adore this book it was cozy creepy but also romcom humor with, masked monster (plague mask, heck Yes!), found/created family.

Dahlia is loud, Crass, and unapologetically herself, I loved her so much. After the loss of her mother she is left with her unsavory step father who is trying to marry her off and so much worse. She often finds solace hiding out at Rosemont Manor that is seemingly abandoned but she finds herself in a life of death situation and runs straight to the manor and into the arms of Sebastian Rosemont...(okay not exactly into his arms, more like she wakes wounded and gets a scare when a ghost is there to greet her).

Sebastian gave me such shy sad boy vibes, I loved every single thing about him. I loved how Dahlia and Sebastians friendship blossomed into more, its a slow burn but my lort when the spice hits it does not disappoint.

gahhh I already want to reread it!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I had a really good time reading it!

I was introduced to some of the funniest and most adorable characters I’ve read about in a long time (Sebastian is the perfect example of when to be a gentleman, and when not to be
