this was pretty good!! as all short story collections are some of the stories are better than others but that's ok. i love sam j miller's writing and i love the way his stories sit slightly outside of defineable genre (like maybe if magical realism was sci-fi or something?) and i like how some of these are like normal people against the backdrop of strange things happening in the world i dont know. my favorites were shattered sidewalks of the human heart, calved, and when your child strays from god
