September 2021 reread:
I remember liking this book a little better the last time I read this. But this time around, I found myself a little annoyed with how much fighting Derek and Whitney did in the beginning of the book. I get that it provided some good banter, but I didn't really understand the emotions behind all their actions (Whitney's especially). Once you reach a little over the halfway point, things did get better, and I enjoyed the story again. And of course, it was definitely full of plenty of funny lines, which is to be expected from RS Grey!

This was quick and fun read that was low on angst, high on cuteness.
Whitney and Derek story will leave you simply enchanted.

This is book is so hilarious!!! I loved it! Honestly, the only reason I’m giving this book 4 stars and not 5 is because I didn’t enjoy the first 40% of this book.

The banter was good, but I think it tried so hard in the first 40% to incorporate some popular tropes (getting jealous over a guy, trying hard to deny having feelings, etc) but wasn’t executed in the best way.

I laughed out loud at the ouija board scene, like really, Elvis Presley? Lol

Nonetheless, I loved this book! Will definitely reread it.

THIS WAS SO FREAKING CUTE!

I don't even know what I last read an R.S. Grey book because I feel like I'm Dory right now. My mind remembers nothing after a day or two. Yet, I can somehow write these damn reviews weeks later?? I don't know - I'm weird.

Okay, back to His Royal Highness. It's kind of like a second chance at romance. Yet, these two never dated before. There was a one-sided crush but deep down, I feel like Derek did have a crush on her. No matter how hard he tries to tell her she was too young for him.. we all knew he did.

Long story short, Derek walks back into Whitney's life. After a sudden change of scenery for him 8 year ago, she was hurt and trying to make new crushes. Yet, not held a candle to her first. So when they realize that they are both working together again.. things start to spark.

It was cute when Whitney was trying to keep him as a friend instead of something more. It truly was and I applaud her for even trying. It obviously didn't last and I was very happy that it didn't. So so freaking happy guys.

Again, they were freaking adorable and I loved how even Cal and Carrie knew that they would end up together. The ending was also cute too and it made me smile. Definitely looking forward to my next R.S. book!!
