This was great, but I do struggle with the self help format of the book that breaks the fourth wall (is there a fourth wall in books? I don't really know). It would have been more my thing if it was just a book of essays. Still awesome, just a little...something...for me.

I enjoyed this book, but didn’t learn as much as I’d hoped to.

I highly recommend this book. I listened to it on audiobook, but I definitely would love a hardcopy of this book. It’s so great for personal growth for loving my own body, but also dismantling any prejudice that I may carry. I think that everyone should read this book.

This was a tough read because Sonya makes you think about not just your body but how we use our bodies and negative body thoughts to oppress ourselves and others. I flew through this short book but I think it I will be reviewing parts of it to self evaluate and maybe creat my own revolution.

I struggled with this book feeling redundant for the first couple chapters, but I made it to the fourth chapter and felt like I had a big breakthrough reading it. It ended up being a much more radical take on how our sense of self ripples farther out into the kinds of societies and systems we end up reproducing when we aren’t intentional. I was very grateful for the clear and compelling examples and tools that were offered. Anyone could read this book and leave with an improved ability to relate to themselves, their close relationships, and their broader community.

I high-key want to be the author's friend lol. A good reminder that "prettiness is not a rent you pay for occupying a space marked 'female'" amid many others.

I am going to try to keep my review short and sweet, as I feel this book speaks for itself.
This book is... Phenomenal. This book is world changing, helpful, and easy to read. It feels like I am sitting with Sonya and she and I are having a heart to heart, I do not feel like I am being scolded or condescended.

This book should be on everyone's TO READ list.

I was nervous when I first heard of this book, I was worried it was just self-help and faux body positivity type writing, but Sonya Renee Taylor completely and Actually Did The Work!

If you are queer, trans, BIPOC, have disabilities, or are not of a default body (size, gender, class, age, etc etc etc), or CARE about someone who is any of these things, READ. This. Book.

I truly don't think I could write a FULL review on this book without entirely going on tangents.
I would love to one day meet and hug Sonya, because truly, her book has made me cry tears of genuine love and care (for myself and for those I care for), and has made me feel loved and seen, while also providing an educative way to move forward to hopefully encourage those around me to also be aware and care about introspection and questioning society.
