Lets face it, when it comes to zombie fiction, hit or miss is a generous description. So when I find a well written example I like to crow. This "Slow Burn" series came as a pleasant surprise. It was well written and kept me engrossed through all three books in the bundle. I liked the character development, and the story concept was a different take on the genre. The pacing was done extremely well over this three book arc.

The third book ends in the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. I really want to know what happens next, but will probably wait and see if I can pick up another bundle before reading the next books in the series.

Story improved from book to book

First book was poorly written in my opinion with poor character development and numerous grammatical errors but the story, grammar and character development improved dramatically by book 3.

Not bad for a self-published series. The author provides a unique spin on the zombie virus storyline, which is a good thing in a market that seems saturated with zombie fiction. I just wish he had spent more time editing, or at least had someone else look over it for mistakes before publishing. There were quite a few that jumped out at me.

So Much Love

I've been hooked to these books. Completely invested in the story and the characters. My little heart is pounding right now, and I can't wait until i can finally get my hands on the next book! It's so refreshing to me when I find an author that isn't afraid to write the really real stuff. The kind of stuff so many authors shy away from because it's just too heavy to think about, let alone include in your story and shove into the minds of your readers. I enjoy that it isn't glossed over. I can't say enough just how much I love this series. A million times yes I recommend this series.
