Just finished The Design by R. S. Grey. It was such a nice read ! Liked it enormously and laughed so hard 😂😂 Cammie is so funny and Grayson so hot and confident 😍😍 and really too sweet. The ending was perfect. More detailed review coming soon.

Truly one of the worst romance novels I've ever read. The characters suck. They never really talk and I'm supposed to believe they're in love?? The heroine is too stupid for words and the hero is a stalker-ish controlling dick.

4.5 STARS!

I actually went to sleep at 3:30am last night reading this one! I enjoyed this one so much. It was so funny, sweet, cute, lighthearted, I loved it. At first I felt as if the beginning happen too quick, his admission. But, I saw that it fit the story and I enjoyed it. Cammie decided to have fun with his confession and have a piece of him. She was daring, bold, funny (especially with the little remarks to herself) it really fit her personality. Especially with the little game she was playing with Grayson. Grayson Cole is not only her boss, but her school girl crush. He really impacted her life with just one encounter and an overhead conversation. He was a bit of an ass but I love it.
I loved their relationship, their game, who they were. The buildup was spot-on! I definitely recommend this one. It's a fun, light read that would have you entertained the whole time.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

The Design is by far Ms. Grey's most unimaginative, most boring, and most formulaic novel to date. I've picked it up 10 different times within the last 2 days only to get extremely bored within 10 minutes and put it down. I'm not even sure how many times I considered DNF'ing it.

I love RS Grey. I think she's one of the nicest, most fan friendly, and cutest new authors out there. If I were staring books based on how much I wish the author would be my best friend, I'd give all of her books 11 stars because I love her that much. Unfortunately, that's not what it's about. I am approximately 25% of the way through it and am very confident that if I somehow manage to finish it will not be getting more then one or two stars from me.

The Design is pretty standard NA fiction, but it lacks excitement. There's no subtly and the first 15% of the book is a "telling not showing" of Cammie's super boring life.

I can get into a super cheesy New Adult novel. Sometimes I'm reading something and I know it's kind of bad. It's cheesy and unrealistic, but I'm so GD entertained that I DGAF. This is not one of those books. This book is cheesy and formulaic, but boring as all get out. I already know what's going to happen because Grayson made that weirdo, probably illegal, declaration after the interview. It's like watching a movie after reading a detailed plot summary on wikipedia. Why bother?

Additionally, I don't feel like any of the characters in this series have come to life. Brooklyn, Jason, Hannah, Cammie, Grayson- they're all 2 dimensional. Brooklyn and Cammie have extremely similar voices and come off as self-absorbed and materialistic. Most of Cammie's inner-monologue to this point has been about what clothes she's going to wear and how she's going to use her body to get Grayson to look at her.

I'm sorry. I'm just not into it. I'm going to continue to attempt to get into this and finish it over the course of the next couple of days and add to this review as I do, but if I don't manage this will serve as my unrated review.

3/2/14 EDIT:
I did end up finishing this and it did not get better. I think the thing I had most loved about RS Grey's novels is that they seemed real. The characters acted realistically. That's not the case with The Design. It was super cheesy and unrealistic.
SpoilerSuper, hot rich guy wants to marry you the second you get home even though you ran off to a foreign country for months after fighting with him. Riiiight.
The whole climax and resolution of this book was totally preposterous and it made me mad.

It was also a total snooze fest. There wasn't one single paragraph that didn't totally bore me.

Avoid this book and read [b:With This Heart|21915986|With This Heart|R.S. Grey|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1398030936s/21915986.jpg|27574946].
