What I Thought:

I fell in love with this book the moment I started reading. It was so real.

I think it was the fact that the story really hit home. It showed that when you are at your lowest moment, sometimes wonderful things can happen, well sort-of. In the case of Lydia, she has just learned that she is infertile. She hadn't begun to think about children, a hubby or her happily ever after, as she was just focused on work and making her own. Then she gets landed in a small town, where she meets a 10 year old girl and her dad.

Cameron is a widower, to a heart disease. Unlike Lydia, he thought he had found his happily ever after, and had lost it. He'd convinced himself that he didn't need love and would never find it again.

Then the two meet. I love that they both are in places in their lives that they believe they will never find a love to complete their 'happily ever after.' They both think they best move on with the life they have and not worry about love. However, just as the world seems to work, they find each other. It was fantastic reading about their early spark and meeting, getting read along as they discovered each other and what it might be like to become a family.

However, love it not always what it seems. Lydia has a job to do, and Cameron may not like what he reads.

I won't give away the ending or the lead up to it, but I will say that it is great!

I liked the plot, as mentioned above, as I think life has so many times when you feel like giving in and just making do with what you've got, but life always has a curveball. The characters had loads of depth and personality, as to be expected with a longer read like this. They didn't grow dull, boring or easy to guess as I flipped the pages. It was just the opposite, I felt more drawn to them and couldn't wait to read more.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good pick-me-up, a little love and just a few kisses. It is a great read.

My Review: 4 stars. This is a very good story. When we are introduced to Lydia, she is just finding out about her inability to have children. Fast-forward a few months later, and she has become a photojournalist that is put on assignment in a small town in New Hampshire. She puts on a strong exterior, but she is vulnerable, endearingly clumsy, and attracted to a very handsome single father. Cam is an admirable, single father, trying to move on after his wife's death. When Cam and Lydia meet, they find feelings arise that had previously been dormant for quite some time. Their attraction is undeniable, despite a dislike for each other. Cam's daughter, Maddie, is adorable in her adoration of Lydia. The story is captivating as it unravels. As the secrets are uncovered, you rooting for Cam and Lydia to find a way to be together. I would recommend this to any romance lover. It was a very entertaining read. You will find some real, true-to-life moments, such as brutal honesty, trying to clean up in a hurry by shoving things in closets, to some insights to infertility and single-parenthood. It will warm your heart and keep you turning the pages. I would definitely read other books in this series.

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

this book was pretty good overall. the writing was good and the character development was good.

i was on the fence about lydia...i didn't understand why should would continue with a job that so thoroughly compromised her ethics and morals. in the end, she redeemed herself thankfully. she's pretty strong, probably because of her upbringing she had to be. she interacted well with maddie better than expected considering the rocky start to the book.

cam is an overall good guy...hard working single dad, in a big loving family. he's surprisingly not too bitter in life considering what he's been through. he has a great relationship with his daughter and is great with her.

the chemistry between cam and lydia is strong and their interactions are pretty intense.

most of the secondary characters were great and help pave the way for the rest of the series.

i didn't like the abrupt ending of the book - it was literally like the author just ran out of steam and quit. the rest of the book was pretty well developed and bam, done.

i would read the next book in the series for sure though.

So far there’s been a lot of sexual focus on appearance, which makes me nervous about their relationship when at the same time he’s calling her a shrew.

I love a serious read but now and then I need something light and refreshing. Capturing You was that for me last weekend! I started to read it during breakfast and I finished it just after lunch!
It’s a book with heart that doesn’t take itself too seriously and that’s one of the reason’s I enjoyed it so much!
I also actually liked Maddie, Cam’s 10 year old daughter. Honestly I often find dialogue weak when it comes it kids in books like these, they always seem 5 years younger than their age and that drives me nuts! Maddie seemed legit as a 10 year old and I appreciated that more than I ever realized I would!

I saw the characters in this book so clearly in my mind and that includes the town of Maple Grove!

If you’re looking for something deep and thought provoking, this isn’t the book you’re looking for. Although… I did find Lydia’s story quite emotional, the first page alone gripped me!
