Not for me. I don't really know what to say about this book. There's nothing memorable.

( I don't mean to sound harsh considering how old this book is, or how it was worded, it just felt boring to me. )

My 6th grade teacher read this out loud to us during class. I looked forward to it everyday! I would like to read it now and see if it is as gripping as I remember.

Once I got to the final few chapters I couldn't put the book down. Major page turner!

White is clearly more at home dealing with the harshness of a murderous desert than with the byzantine dangers of the legal system. His description of the boy's struggle to survive in a killing wilderness is riveting, admirable, and breathtaking. His description of the boy's legal response to the attempt on his life is maddening. I believe the author was trying to show compassion and forgiveness on the boy's part, but it feels like the author surgically removed the character's spine and brain as well as the brains of those around him.
