The book follows a mouse as he boasts about being the fastest mouse in the world as various animals try to chase him. None of them manage to catch him. The book ends with him being eaten by the cat in his garden. This probably isn’t an ending many children will love. The book gives a message that boasting about things you are good at might get you into trouble, however I think other books do this better.
