I've been going through several Moliere works this year so far (before these two I had read The Misanthrope and Tartuffe), which has been an unexpected but delightful turn in my reading. The Imaginary Cuckold is probably my least enjoyed one so far, but I did still have quite a bit of fun with it. The School for Husbands was especially great though, and I really enjoyed the way they managed to say so much by saying the opposite of what they meant.

I've been listening to the audioplays from LA Theatre Works, and everything I've listened to so far has featured Brian Bedford in a leading role (including in both of the featured plays in this double bill), so it was especially delightful to hear the interview with him about Moliere's works and his vast experience performing them.

These were both fun plays to experience, and I especially recommend The School for Husbands. I am unexpectedly looking forward to more of Moliere's plays.
