I learned about a bunch of neat museums to visit but I did not like the writing style, which was trying for quirky but fell flat for me. Also I think the British Museum should give back most of that stuff

I love museums. Not just art/fine art museums, although I love those too.....any museum, anywhere. I just love them. The more bizarre the museum, the better.......
This brings together 50 unusual museums from around the world, and there are some great ones featured. Many I never knew of. But there are several missing that I think should be in there....like the Museum of Death in Hollywood and the Bearded Ladys Mystic Museum in Burbank......but there are many here I intend to explore.
American Classic Arcade Museum in Laconia, NH
Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, NV
Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, CA (who knew....i lived here and never knew!)
Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ
International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine
Clown Hall of Fame in Baraboo, Wisc.
......and a few others. I enjoy books by Lonely PLanet so much, this one as well.

This book gives you a brief taste of some very interesting museums you might not consider otherwise. Rather than an appetizer, it's more like those little mini quiches that they serve at baby showers--just one bite of each. With witty conversational descriptions and only one picture of each museum, it will leave you wanting more... plane tickets.

Clear, concise and persuasive. Lonely planet guides are the best and I love this branch of mini books they have right now. It means when I am stuyding instead of travelling I don't have to miss out! It does leave me with a serious case of wanderlust though - so many places to go. I think the place it has most convinced me I need to go to is the Smithsonian centre to see the live coral reef there!
