As someone who loves the Jersey Devil mythology, this was an enjoyable read. The writing is a bit dry and not edited well as there are a lot of typos and grammatical errors, so if you don't really enjoy cryptids, it might be distracting. But if you're like me and find monsters amazing, this is a fun little read that is very fast as it's a short collection of short stories.

My favorite of the stories was towards the end, the 11th (out of 14) called "Birds of a Feather". Without spoilers, the relationship that the forestry ranger, Andy Butler, has with the Jersey Devil mythology is so interesting to me and honestly I could read a whole novel about Andy and how he got to where he is at the end of the story. It made the other stories a little disappointing in comparison.

Otherwise, it's not remarkable but does a nice job of giving an overview of the history of the Jersey Devil and a lot of the various myths and stories that have been attached to the monster over the years.
