The first few chapters didn't quite grab me because I'm becoming a cranky old man, but they were just confidently setting the table for an unexpectedly delightful story that actually had me tearing up by the end! ♥️ (I read this digitally, but the bilingual hardcover is beautiful!)

A nice cute read about a Latina girl getting powers when she turns fifteen. I really enjoyed it, but I felt that the Hispanic culture was misrepresented, in that I would have loved to see more of it integrated into the main character and her family, the Spanglish dialogue was also a little bit forced in my opinion. But overall enjoyable and nice

An adorable story with adorable characters. A great book for pre-teens that want to read more graphic novels. the pacing was a little clunky at times, but overall the artwork and characters were loveable. It was an enjoyable read.

It wholesome up to the end
it gets a bit dark with the archrivel/villain of the story.

Really enjoyed this diverse superhero tale, the illustrations were great and it was realistic to how a teenage girl would act. I liked her relationships the most especially with her grandmother that was really special

Not rating as I picked this up to practice my Spanish.  Only read the first issue (but the individual issues don’t seem to have existing entries in Storygraph and I’m not passionate to add it).  The art work didn’t do much for me and the Spanish isn’t at a level that’s quite right for me.  Not much fun and that’s what I’m looking to add to my language learning.

A delight. Probably the most believable superhero story I've read.

Note: Available through Hoopla (at least for the Jacksonville Public Library).

An awkward, excitable, and easily discouraged teenager gains superpowers on her 15th birthday and discovers that it’s tough balancing her crime fighting duties with her life. Overall, a fun read with a Hispanic superhero girl, but the pacing and concept didn’t capture me. It was hard to tell who the intended audience was since this reads like middle grade.
