A really fun book. I didn’t find it incredibly satisfying, but it was good escapism. I like how the book was deliberately written so that it could be enjoyed by both religious and non-religious people. The book is not afraid to ask questions and challenge religion, but ultimately I think there was a message of optimism. As a religious guy I appreciated that.
Additionally the humor was excellent: chaotic in a very sensible and orderly way. The Crawley-Aziraphale dynamic was great too. The number-one rule of writing an interesting character relationship is to make the characters very different. What better way to do that than with an angel and a demon?
A bit anticlimactic at the ending, though. I think that was the main reason why I didn’t rate this higher. Plus it got confusing at times, though that was part of the fun.
