New to me author Kyra Davis in an erotic revenge story. Bell lost her mother to a murder charge and before she could prove her innocence her mother is lost to her forever. She knows who set her mother up, she just needs to find out how to bring them down. To begin she needs to get close to the Gable family and knows her way in is with the youngest son, Lander. Except her revenge becomes a little skewed as her feelings begin to change from hate to something close to love. But will Bell be able to find the revenge for her mother and keep her heart in tact? A very well crafted story from Ms. Davis, not necessarily my cup of tea. I'm not a big fan of revenge being the plot moving the story along, but it was a well written steamy story. Intrigued to see where the story goes from here.

I thought this was the conclusion to the series but it better not be! Just like the others, it ends with a huge cliffhanger. I liked this one the least in the series. Bell flopped back and forth in her thinking waaaaay too much for my liking.

I absolutely loved everything about this. Fantastically twisted and passionate! I could not stop reading! Seriously addicting as I absorbed all the details.

It's not very often that a plot is so unexpected, it actually catches me by surprise. I loved it! It started out super intriguing and hot. It had this incredible build with a mysterious vibe throughout that had me on the edge of my seat. I was anxious and holding my breath and at times even laughing.

The characters really captivated me. Bell had a very specific agenda and her need for revenge and retribution completely fascinated me. It was just this intricate yet diabolical plan and I was blown away by all the different layers. I loved Lander, he was so complex and seemed to have his own agenda as well and I had so many questions about his motivation and what was going on, I couldn't wait for answers. While some were answered, I have a ton more. The two of them were this unique and perfect pairing. Two of a kind. I loved their passion, it could be raw and intense!

There are so many different players and so much going on, all these different power plays seemed to be happening. Something new would happen and I would think, “this is so messed up but it’s awesome!” I just found it all really thrilling! I loved the development and the subtlety of learning the back story's of everyone's deception and deceit. It was just all so well thought out.

The ending was intense and while there is some closure, the story is far from over so be prepared for a cliffhanger. The next book, Dangerous Alliance, is out now so you can jump right into it, that's what I'm going to do. I'm dying for the conclusion.

This was just freaking fantastic! Loved it so much! A must read!!!

In this final installment, Bell finds herself with conflicting emotions about Lander Gable, even though she still believes he was somewhat complicit in his family's framing of her mother. Her dealings with his brother, Travis, who she works for, are dicey and dangerous. Her Russian Mafia "friend" also enters the picture, posing a serious threat to her plan for revenge.

When Bell originally set her plans in motion, things were pretty clear cut...her targets, her conviction of their guilt, her zeal in following through. Now that she's in the mix of the Gable family, the situation is much more complicated and Bell's emotions are all over the place about Lander.

I haven't really liked Bell until this installment. For the first time, that hard veneer she's worn began to crumble. Her ability to be dispassionate about Lander was severely challenged and for the first time in her life she's experienced empathy. By the end of the story, I found my feelings had shifted towards her and I'm now invested in the outcome of this mystery and diabolical plan.

Now that the serial is over, I'm looking forward to the next full length book in the series because the plot and mystery is certainly not over, even though things are much clearer. I'm not a fan of serial installments but this one was exceptionally well written and structured.

Quick review for a quick read. I knew that was going to happen - I knew it, I knew it. :) The last installment of the serial novel "Deceptive Innocence" was a satisfying read for the most part. I definitely appreciated the way the novella kept the tension going from beginning to end, and while this isn't the end of the respective "Pure Sin" series, it concludes in a way that provides a good setup for the next novel.

Long story short: Bell is fully immersed in raising tensions coming to the surface in the Gable family. She's torn between her affections for Lander and ultimately getting revenge on everyone in the family for falsely accusing her mother of murder, eventually leading to her mother's death. This part of the novel begins where the latter novella left off - a tense meeting of an ally Bell realizes she may end up betraying if she goes through the plan that she has in her head. There are also tensions raising between Lander, his cruel brother Travis, and Travis's wife who are quickly making Bell realize she might be in over her head - but she's driven by anger and revenge. The sexual tension and chemistry comes across very well between this alternating storyline, and ultimately it ends up in a place I knew it would go, but not quite in the progression that I'd imagined. I think what made me really enjoy this story the most was Davis's wonderful attention to detail, vivid characters, and ultimately a story that kept me turning page after page until the very end. I'm definitely looking forward to reading "Dangerous Alliance."

Overall score: 4/5 stars.

Note: I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher Pocket Star.

Are you kidding me? That's how it ends?!! So I vacillated between a 3 and a 4 star rating for this last installment. While the writing crackles and pops in this last episode and the sexy times leap off of the page, I still have lots of questions. Now I know that life doesn't always follow a linear path and that we don't always get an HEA... but how about a HFN?! I have to really credit the author will writing such a provocative ending and will read anything else she writes but I have to say that I am somewhat dissatisfied with how this ends. I began to dislike Bell in part 2 but my feelings about her change again in 3. I really appreciated how the author set out to have Bell create this, in her mind, foolproof plan, but then things got really complicated and highlighted just how "not evil" Bell really is. So for the writing, the complexity of the plot and the heat factor, this is a solid 4 for me.... but I am still pissed!
