I forget how much I love Neil Gaiman until I read something from Neil Gaiman and I fall in love all over again. This is easily my favorite of his books.

Enjoyed the author's narration, just not convinced that the beautiful language adds up to much more than style for style's sake... Probably just not for me.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a small book, but powerful, and not at all what I expected, and the first Neil Gaiman novel that I have truly loved, and I highly recommend it if you find yourself in need of something to read.

Everything else I could possibly want to say about this book has already been said, much more eloquently, by Patrick Rothfuss. I really have nothing else to add.

First of all I just want to say that the writing in this book was absolutely gorgeous. I feel like this is a book that will stick in my mind for a long time to come. On saying that though I also have to admit that there was just a little something missing from the story for me in particular. I found myself caring far more about the Hempstocks than I cared for main character. I wanted to feel his presence more throughout the novel but I didn't and that knocked the book down a star for me as a reader. I really want a book about the Hempstocks though!
