that was a ride. and what a ride. i'm still so shocked about what i read and i loved how it was done. i also love the fact that we, as readers, don't have all the answers even at the end of the story : it feels real. i very loved this story, it really hit hard and was nicely executed.

(i'm still hesitating about giving it 5 stars, i'll see if it sticks with me)

This book is so hard to read, because it’s so real, girls (and boys) go missing all the time, and the reasons why they do are heartbreaking always.

This was a great book. Not scary at all! the characters have flaws and I think that is really neat because they are not living in this perfect world. The sister dynamic is really interesting. The ending is also very good. I love the podcast element. If you loved "Good Girl Bad Blood" by Holly Jackson you will love this book. It is defiantly one of my fav thrillers. It's a great book to get you into the thriller/mystery genre.

oh my god. honestly, YA mysteries aren’t usually very good at all, but the ones I’ve recently read have been killing the game.
i loved this story so much. It’s extremely uncomfortable, but it needs to be. it’s so raw and exposed, which is what i love; there is no sugarcoating.

sadie hurt me. she was a main character that we could connect with on a personal level, and she isn’t like any YA protagonist who does dumb shit and is always annoying. she owns this story and tells it like she means it.

i thought the switch between Sadie’s POV and west McCray’s true crime podcast documenting sadie’s story was genius. it set the mood and made everything even more intense, watching him trace Sadie’s steps. we are just hoping for him to understand, but he’s not fast enough to save her. goddamn that hurt me.
