This isn't my first Atkinson, and I'm still scratching my head. Her writing style is really engaging, but her books never manage to really grab me. This story was proving to be the exception, but then it veered into territory I have no idea what to make of.

I'm glad this was short, because I hated it. Kate Atkinson's Life After Life is one of my favorite books, so this was a real bummer.

I love Kate Atkinson. She has an amazing way of writing believable characters who are genuinely funny. So, when this short story became available on Audible, it was an automatic purchase for me. It was no surprise to me that I loved the first 2/3 of this book and couldn’t understand how it hadn’t gotten great reviews. Then, it just got weird.

The book itself is comparatively fine, I liked the part about adding in exclamation marks to everything because #relatable, but it’s a really weird book.
