Amazing illustrations and it was funny to read the parodies of classic book title.

Very intricate drawings worth examining closely on every page

This was a beloved book from my childhood. I haven’t read it since I was about eleven or twelve.

I loved revisiting this eerie, ancient museum and the secrets it held. I remember being particularly haunted by Throatgall (circa Gollum) and his gory fate. In truth, though, I’d forgotten a great deal of the journey and enjoyed reading much of it again as though for the first time.

First and foremost, if I remember one thing about this book, it's the setting. The evocative setting of a museum with a thousand treasures is such a delight to read.

Along with this, the plot follows an interesting turn of events, where you can't grasp everything in the book, but that just gives it the mystery, just like real life. It's a book that I want to read multiple times, to keep imagining this childhood dream over and over.

Although it is quite an easy book to read, and accessible to most ages, the themes and analyzing that could be done can be taken quite far. The innermost feelings of each character, especially Peter and Festival do feel like real people. The questions asked are so similar that I feel like I have asked those same questions to myself.

An amazing read for someone who wants a fantastical break to just imagine and reminisce about their childhood and dreams.
