I can't tell you which I found sexier...the steamy story or the sense of humor

OK the truth!?!

This story is sexy but better than that it is laugh out loud funny too. I was constantly pestered my kids to tell them what had me cracking up. The snark and banter is pure dynamite.

Spencer is a dream for sure. If only I could get a date!

Hands down most fun I've had in a book in 6 months.

Totally cute rom-com, at times predictable... but that's ok. I love the friends-to-lovers trope ❤️ Part of the Audible Escape catalogue.

I love male POV so I was very excited to read this, however at times it was very slow and boring so I had to skim through parts. I enjoyed what I read though!

I can pretty much sum up my review in five words. I. Effing. Loved. This. Book. I wasn’t sure I would like it because I’m not into covers with mostly naked men—shocking, I know. I always feel like they’re overcompensating for a small…plot. And really the basis of the story isn’t anything deep or even original. Best friends pretend to be a couple, but eventually they cross the line between pretending and genuinely feeling something more. The End. Right? Except not so much in this case.

In this story the playboy, Spencer, isn’t a douche. He’s just a genuinely a nice guy that tries to do the right thing for those he loves. His cockiness is humorous, and he’s hot as hell both in and out of the bedroom. Sorry hubby, but if Spencer was real and polygamy was legal, I’d totally marry him in a heartbeat.

There’s a reason—albeit a rather impulsive and excessive one—for their ruse. I liked that there’s a quick-ish buildup of sexual tension, but not an abrupt let’s have sex because I’m suddenly in love with you transition. Spencer knows the stakes are fairly high if their arrangement ends badly because Charlotte is not only his best friend, she’s also his business partner.

I’ve got to say I adored Charlotte. It’s wonderful to have a smart, sexy, and honest heroine. There’s no b.s. or melodrama with her, and Spencer doesn’t play any games either. They are straightforward with their feelings, and those emotions spill over into some off the charts chemistry. They seriously heat up the sheets, but there’s also a lot of playfulness between these longtime friends that had me smiling from ear to ear. The side plot involving Spencer’s dad and his business deal is entertaining as well.

The story is told entirely by Spencer, and I have to give a shout out to Lauren Blakely for writing from the male point of view so convincingly. This friends to lovers romance has heart, heat, and humor. It’s a refreshing twist on a common trope, and it hit all the right notes with me.

I read Lauren Blakely's Seductive Nights series which I enjoyed.

I listened to the Audiobook. I thought the narrator was good, but, the book was ok. There were a few humorous moments. Lots of steamy moments, all moments told from a male POV. That was cool.

Spencer thoughts about himself were the height of arrogance, but he showed his vulnerability to Charlotte. Charlotte had his
game all along.

I just wasn't feeling this book. It was kind of meh. I don't know if it would have been any better if I had read it instead of listened to it. Somehow, I don't think so. I would give this 2.5 stars.

I'm glad I was able to listen to this book via my Audible Romance subscription.

Fucking hilarious.

Big Rock was such a fun and quick read. I instantly fell in love with the main characters and their family. I didn't like all of the side characters, but that's because that one family was fucking nuts. Living in the good ole days were wives stayed home and did nothing but wait on their husbands. First off, it's 20freaking18 - no one should be acting like that. They deserve a swift kick to the nuts.

In this book, you will meet Spencer Holiday and Charlotte Rhodes. They went to Yale together and somehow because the best of friends. I loved their friendship turned to romance kind of thing because 1) it was super predictable pretending to be in a relationship and 2) they were just fucking adorable. Their chemistry was amazing and once they shared their first kiss - well, I knew they were goners.

You also get to meet Spencer's family and they are just all really likable. I think there might be something going on with his sister and his friend but I'm not 100% sure yet. Maybe in the next book I'll find out? Then there's the Offerman family, I think that's their name - honestly, I don't even care enough because I didn't like them at all.

Overall, I loved this book. I loved that it was all from the males POV. Again, I loved EVERYTHING about this one guys. I need the second book in my hands right now!
