hmmmm, not sure about this novel. One of the things that I really enjoyed about Scandinavian and Nordic crime novels is that they are so completely different to American crime novels. More mystery and plot and character development than just violent, sociopathic crimes (and usually serial killer)...
This one was a strange hybrid - Scandinavian characters but american influence all throughout....(is there a movie deal in the offering?) It would appear that there will be a sequel so I am reserving judgment on this novel until the next instalment.

A really good book! My first by Kristina Ohlsson. And my second crime novel in 6 months (I usually read fantasy). And I think I’ll read more crime now. I definitely need to read the second part of this story, I need to know how it ends!
Thrilling, twists and turns, dark.

Didn’t like opening pages dialogue. Didn’t like attny character or the way the action unfolded.

It's OK. A new approach with the combination of transcript and first person. Otherwise it has the classic intrigue/love drama, the person you hate then love, the bad good guy and the good bad guy, the mystery, the solution, and the build up for a second mystery. Not the best, not the worst - all in all an OK+ read.

Just lost interest with this book.

A good mystery but I hated the unsatisfying ending, Benner wasn’t very likeable, and it seems like Ohlsson hasn’t ever spoken to a real four-year-old because Belle is completely unconvincing for a kid of that age... but it was a very good mystery. Conflicted! Three stars.

I read this on a hurry, and I both liked it and disliked some elements of it. It was a drive in it, but some 'surprises' were too obvious, at the same
Time as the content was a bit too far-fetched.
