Amazing. It really protrays 3 friends going in to high school and making mistakes along the way. Amazing format. Well thought out and executed. 5 stars.

Lauren Myracle’s TTYL is especially fun to read because of its sheer creativity. I’ve never read anything told entirely in instant messages, and once you get past the “Internet speak” (srsly, wat happened 2 the days wen spelling mattered?) you find a charming story in a unique format. I’m very impressed at the way Myracle develops her characters through just IMs. The originality and engagement of the plot fell short—the issues were slow to develop and not discussed as deeply as they could’ve been—but on the whole, TTYL is a satisfying novel for the new teenage girl. This is a great way to get tweens into reading.

Found at library sale while I was reading Let it Snow. Figured it was worth a shot.

Enh. I probably would've enjoyed this more if I read it when it came out. Or, if I were younger than I was when it first came out.

Not awful. Just eh.

I first read this book when I was 11 and I loved it. I'm not entirely sure why I decided to reread it five years later but I really wish I didn't.

I actually enjoyed this story consisting entirely of IM conversations between 3 bff's. One gets religion (but teacher from church group gets a crush on her, ew!); one tries desperately to be friends with the mean popular bitchy girl; one has an obsessed with making her 2-week long relationship with her boy crush work though he's obviously just not that into her.

I love the way that these books are written. They're easy to get through but you also get to connect with the characters in a way that I thought you would never be able to.
