Not astounding, but a pretty competent and fast moving thriller that scratched an itch. Felt quite strange to have a villain who identified with Meursault from Camus’s ‘Outsider’. It dragged a little in the second half, but I was there till the end.

This book is just straight up an action movie. The characters are cartoonishly evil it has all the tropes of an action movie. This should be a movie rather than a book.

As all as I could think of when the book reached its inevitable bloodbath of an ending was this quote from Fargo: "And for what? For a little bit of money. There's more to life than a little money, you know. Don't you know that? And here ya are, and it's a beautiful day. Well, I just don't understand it."
