“How to Catch Santa” was adorable. Kids will love it and it’ll be fun for families to try some of the “traps” that are in the book.

This was such a cute read! And creative! I loved the tricks the kids came up with to catch Santa. Also, it’s so cute to see what some kids might be thinking, their questions/concerns (you know past the usual “but how” ones). I particularly liked that they wanted to leave him a head light to get down the chimney easier😂

Just in time for the holiday season, Jean Reagan and Lee Wildish bring a story about the famous Santa and, more importantly, how to catch that mystical person. Two siblings narrate the story on a fun-filled Christmas Eve.

HOW TO CATCH SANTA is an adorable picture book, one that can easily entertain the kids and adults alike. The two children narrating the story present a wide variety of ways to catch Santa, from candy cane distractions to promises of cookies. There are several moments throughout the story that are hard not to giggle at.

The illustrations are cute with softer lines, giving a warm tone to the story. The colors are bright and fun, and there is a great balance of text and illustration. I particularly like the pet cat and the small elves that sneak into a few of the pictures. There are just enough details in the illustrations to let your eyes wander but not too many to be overwhelmed or too distracted.

Overall, I highly recommend HOW TO CATCH SANTA for anyone full of the holiday spirit and prepared for a few giggles. The sweet illustrations and cute story make this a picture book destined to be read more than once.

This story is adorable, and it also seems like it would be really easy to make more interactive for an easily distracted group of kids. Instead of reading the questions for Santa included in the book, have the kids tell you some of their questions for him...have them tell you some of the things they would like to tell Santa if they had the chance...what they would give him...etc. It would be really fun, especially if the group is chatty and not shy.

It's a cute little book about Santa; however, I would have wished for more diversity in terms of representation.
