What It’s About: This story adds a few more perspectives to the eruptions and earthquakes that rocked the ice planet.
Spice Level: No sex in this one, but that’s entirely appropriate, considering the subject matter.
Trigger Warnings: An earthquake and some injuries.
Final Thoughts: It was nice to see a few other opinions of what went down, especially from the leadership perspective, where things had to be the most difficult. Oddly enough, even though everyone was in peril and unsure about their continued survival, it ended up being very uplifting.

This is a short story that shows different POV for events that took place in Barbarian’s Taming. This focuses on seeing what happened to Rukh/Harlow, Stacy/Pashov (not told from their perspective), and Vektal and Georgie. This is not any spicy and not fun but more tragic and deepening into the dire situation the tribe is not in and psychological fall out of the events that took place in this disaster. This one does add some flavor to the events but not necessary to understanding. The events are very sad and you do see how Ruby makes such distinct characters. I do agree with some other reviewers that I find Vektal/Georgie not as interesting as some of the other couples we have not yet heard from, however it feels like Ruby uses them as "the leaders" to provide the high level overview of the tribe and what the tribe will face. Of all the shorts I have read this one was alright but was definitely a deepening of a down note and I would understand if some folks don't care to read, but if they do will get some emotional insights into the situations of several couples and the tribes. This definitely speaks to mounting struggles that the audience will be witnessing in future volumes.

This is a sad short story in the series. I hate seeing everyone so sad and unsure of the future. I'm really hoping they figure things out. I do love that even with everything not going so great, everyone is supporting each other and doing what they can for everyone. I also feel sad for Stacy and Pashov. Their situation is tough and heartbreaking and their future so uncertain. It just makes me eager to see where their story goes.
