This started out with such promise. Even 50% through, it was interesting....then it completely went off track and I wasn’t sure what I was reading anymore.

I really wanted to like this one, it just never really pulled me in long enough to keep me there

This is everything I love in a book. Literary. Kind of bananas. A little bit of romance.

"It is a plot that could be—that should be—unbearably twee, oppressively quirky, in love with its own melancholy. Instead, Bonnaffons' (The Wrong Heaven, 2018) first full-length novel is a rare pleasure: a philosophical rom-com too weird, too bodily, too precise, too fun to get bogged down in trembling sentiment. Deep and deeply funny." -Kirkus

Um. It was not for me. The main character read like an overly-written Edward Cullen at times. The writing was decent but...what the hell happened, you know? What did I just read?

Not the book for me or I wasn’t in the mood for this book. It was more introspective and it felt like nothing happened. It was intentional, but ultimately not for me.

lots of uh ghost sex?
um i think i just wanted the book to be what the first 1/3 was but by the last half i wanted it to be more like that. i think i liked both premises and deliveries, just wished she picked one to do because it ended without much of a conclusion while still missing a lot of set up. i liked the writing and characters a lot though. just wish we got to spend more time with them. it read very quickly and even parts i didn't find fascinating were still quick and not damaging to the parts i liked. i don't think i've ever been this confused or indecisive on if i liked it or not but i did like the ending themes (i think?)
