-1 star for the fact that the way things were told were way too over complicated to the point where I didn’t wanna keep reading cuz it felt like it was dragging on and on and then, it ended so abruptly without slowly coming to an end.

Not terrible, good for first time readers. Didn’t actually read this book in a year, I just rarely update these things.

Book review!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Act Cool by Tobly McSmith

Reading Dates:
February 3, 2023 - February 20, 2023

"Each trans and non-binary person is like a unique and beautiful snowflake. Some people are more comfortable in their body and don’t need surgery or hormone therapy, and others do. No one way is right or wrong, and what you’re feeling is your gender dysphoria."
- Tobly McSmith

Act Cool by Tobly McSmith is a quirky, mind opening, and hopefully story about a trans boy trying to forge his own success story.

After coming out as trans to his family,
August Greene escapes to New York city to live with his eccentric Auntie. August is immediately accepted into the prestigious School of Performing Arts.
Though August is living out and proud, his parents still believe that he is still their daughter.

Act Cool by Tobly McSmith was a fun thought provoking novel which is wonderfully narrated by Shaan Dasani.
It is refreshing to be getting a massive influx of queer representation.

The only major draw backs for this novel was August Greene himself, he was a annoying  vain main character to follow.
But the story is so fun and heart wrenching that it made up for my dislike.
