I’m going to be honest - i have mixed feelings about this last book. I love Jordan Rivet and I loved their steel and fire series, and i loved the last two books of this series. but this one i had issues with. I know Tamri was dealing with a lot of emotions and normally i’m 100% a fan of the whole “she snaps” trope thing (shout out dany targaryen like) but her choices on this one were so frustrating. everyone she loves was trying to tell her that they were worried and they wanted to help her homegirl continuously ignores them. and then she just kept getting manipulated in a toxic relationship w queen? it was just unsettling the choices she made and that’s why this book was a lot harder for me to give a better rating.
still a great series - will still recommend to anyone.

I can't believe this is the last book in the series. I haven't stopped listening to the 3 books since I started the first. It's a great series with an amazing ending. So glad I stumbled upon this series.

A wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series! I absolutely loved seeing how Tamri grew especially, but also Selivia. It was a treat to be in this world again and of the trilogy this one kept me the most engaged, probably because the stakes were highest. Jordan Rivet is earning her spot as one of my favorite fantasy authors, that's for sure!

A fitting end to the series, if not a little frustrating due to the stupidity of main characters. Overall, I'm happy with how this series ended.

Enjoyed the growth of Tamri most in this book. I think her development was my favorite part of this book. No rushing through to get to a better part like I did in The Thunderbird Queen.

Heath grounded Tamri and reminded her she needed an anchor to keep herself from being lost in the grief and replacing it with another obsession while working with Queen. I enjoyed this. He never doubted her ability, just reminded her of who she was while letting her grow to who she could be.

Queen isn't bad, just mad and scared. I like how Rivet wrote her anger to be a shield and shell at the same time. The connection between her and Tamri is so fragile, but needed by both. Well Done.

I have no words. This series and the first series are fantastic and this book has rounded out the universe as one of my favorite of all time.
I read the entire thing in one sitting. I physically could not put it down.
Jordan Rivet has completely outdone herself in this book. Not only is it a satisfying ending to the story but you truly feel as though all the plot beats from all the books have fully developed. I’m so pleased with this book that I may never recover. How am I supposed to enjoy any other books when I know this masterpiece of literature exists. At least I’m comforted in the knowledge that Jordan Rivet is a prolific author, so we might get more works of art like this in the next year. I’ve read every book she has written till this point, and I’m still shocked every new book that somehow she has improved.

I absolutely loved this finale! After unleashing the Lightning magic and awakening a powerful dragon, Tamri does her best to resist being tempted by the Lightning's pull. Then, tragedy strikes and her grief crumbles her resolve. Intrigued by the dragon and motivated to learn the new, powerful magic, she pursues a tentative partnership with the dragon she calls Queen. In exchange for information about humanity and the dangers they pose to Queen's freedom, Queen will teach Tamri how to use the Lightning magic, and Tamri will be able to enact revenge on the enemies that have wronged her.

Jordan Rivet masterfully writes the characters' perspectives. Despite the often crazed trains of thought, I was sucked in completely. Tamri undergoes some fantastic character development and the plot wraps up in a satisfying way. If you enjoy dragons, magic, and well-rounded characters, this is the series for you!
