Getting locked in a closet with a sexy man is the least of Raven's problems. Especially when the next day said man ends up being her new boss. But with grit and determination Raven wants to prove her worth and show Charles that she is more than a pretty face. But wil it be enough to establish her career or her future? In true Ava Harrison style the reader is locked in from he opening pages and cannot put the book down until it is complete. Raven and Charles will end up being a favorite couple.

DNF @ 58%. Woman spontaneously makes out with a stranger at a club, only to later find out he's her new boss. The pacing and the two lead character's chemistry wasn't working for me.

I’m a sucker for a grumpy hero and office romances so this one ticked all the boxes! Charles Cavendish is the grumpiest of grumps and has trust issues from his past but also has a sweet side. I loved Raven and her strength, she was in a male dominated job and didn’t let that stop her from sharing her opinion. The chemistry between Charles and Raven is off the charts and they can’t deny it no matter how hard they try.

The narration from Vanessa Edwin and Shane East was great. Shane was perfect at bringing out Charles’ grumpiness and Vanessa brings out Raven’s strength and emotions. Together this duo brought these characters to life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (ARC Review)

Safety gang:
- Mention of cheating
- No cheating (between MCs)
- OW drama
- OM drama
- HEA

I enjoyed the premise and the MCs chemistry. It was a fun good with a good mix of plot and romance.

I wish he didn’t push away so much and then pull her in only to then basically destroy the progress they had made. I know his past haunts him and made him into the man he is today (and NOBODY could blame him) but he shouldn’t of looked at everything to find one wrong thing to justify his hesitation.

Also idk how I could ever forgive the man who betrayed me in the worst way? Charles is a better person than me cause that was diabolical and gross.

At first I thought it was Asher who was doing the sabotage but it quickly became apparent it couldn’t be him so my second choice was spot on. I’m glad we got justice for the shady business.

That epilogue was cute but I wish it was further along into the future? Months seemed too soon. Also the couple reveal? I couldn’t believe it as it seemed so soon after everything that went down.

Raven has a moment with a stranger at a club and it throws her. She has conflicting feelings about it, wondering how she could’ve let that happen but also wishing she’d let it continue longer. It was a strange night for sure. Soon after, she discovers the handsome stranger from the club is her new boss, a British billionaire and recent transplant to New York. Charles lets the world believe he’s crossed the ocean to expand his family’s empire, but he also needed to distance himself from heartbreak.

It was fun watching these two fight their attraction to one another and the dynamics between them are delicious. Raven is rays of sunshine while Charles is a brooding grump; He’s older, wealthy and holds all the power in the office but Raven’s not at all intimidated by him or the situation. She always holds her own, never backing down from a challenge and throwing out a few of her own. Boss-employee can be hit or miss for me so I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy this when I picked it up, but I liked the characters and really enjoyed their story so I’m glad I gave it a chance.
