beautifully written stories as can be expected by lahiri. i found a lot of these stories to be about the same people & topics: ivy league educated, rich, immigrants with family issues. some stories more compelling the others, some still lacking a certain something to allow you to sink your teeth into the story - like a craving you can’t name. overall, a fine read if you like stories & complicated families.

Really loved these stories. They are extremely intimate and moving on many levels, exploring complicated family and social dynamics (some of which I can relate to, some I obviously can’t). A really incredible lens into the immigrant experience in America (focused on the Bengali community near Boston) but this book is ultimately universal in its core themes. Would def recommend to anyone.
