Not quite as good as book one. I didn't find the stories to be as engaging in this one as I did in the last. But it wasn't bad, there were some pretty good moments too. Overall, pretty good.

Just as good as the first one! Where 'A Tale Dark and Grimm' focused on the adventures of Hansel and Gretel, 'In a Glass Grimmly' follows the travels of cousins Jack and Jill. While Mr. Gidwitz sticks to the original fairy tales a little less in this book, his stories are still just as good! He draws inspiration from many different places, but the gist of each chapter is made up of his own warped ideas (seriously...the giant story? Bleck!).

If you like re-imagined dark fairy tales, then this is definitely the series for you. As soon as I finished this book I purchased and downloaded the final book to this series, 'The Grimm Conclusion'. So glad I stumbled on these books...they've been a fun way to pass a few hours.

UGH! What a fantastical disappointment. I waited and waited for this! I LOVED the last book, but I found this one slow moving and it failed to keep my 8 y/o's attention. Not enough gore, I 'spose.

I got this book early. Just looked at bookdepository.com and it shouldn't be out yet. No clue how they got the book 20 days before it is to come out.

But oh well. Means I could read it earlier. :)

And what a ride it was, I really hope he will make a third book, because he really writes well, and I love the narration (and it breaking the fourth wall).

I also love how he weaves multiple stories into one big one, where all the characters come together and do stuff. Jack and Jill, only now with more fun and more characters and more stories. :) I love it.

And this time it is a quest for the Seeing Glass. Bringing Jack and Jill to many different towns, creatures and people. And learning some lessons along the way.

I can't wait for a third book. :)

Just as grim (pun intended) and humorous as the first one. This time, follow Jack and Jill through harrowing circumstances. There might be luck, there might be magic, but there certainly will be unfortunate events.

A fun, quick read. Not for children who are sensitive. I loved the nod at the end to classic authors.

My favorite of the trilogy but my kids said it got PRET-TY dark with the giants and mermaids.

Really, really great story but the characters somewhat bothered me a bit that's why I rated it a 4 instead of a 5.
