This book was incredible. The plot was incredibly interesting, and the fast-pace kept me interested the whole way through. I am only giving it 4 stars, however, because one of my bookish pet peeves in speech with no quotation marks, so it took me a little while to get past the writing style and into the story. Once I'd done that, though, I genuinely enjoyed this read.

Writing style was unique and, although a little tricky to get into, added a lot to the dreamy quality of the whole story. I was so fearful that this would have a tragic ending, but the fact that it ended with two women coming to the rescue really healed some part of me. The fact that it seemed so obvious that the 17 year old girl would be victimized, just as is suggested of the bog girls throughout the story, yet it is through a college girl and a midwife that we as the readers are shown just how absurd it all is. Loved it. Hard to put into words how it made me feel.
