The first part of this book is extremely strong. I very much enjoyed getting to know Athwanda, and the situation with her father, the Program, and Mr. C is set up like a compelling mystery. I felt that was actually a bit misleading--you find out what is really going on, but I expected Athwanda to get caught up in it more, sort of like a dark academia plot. However the latter section when Athwanda begins to come to terms with her Terrors was very well done and I felt like I was there with her. All in all, I wish this book were longer! I could've spent even more time with the characters and the world.
