This books to accomplish Tsundoku Books Challenge 2020

3,7 of 5 stars!

my knowledge about astronomy is just about the name of planets and also Galileo Galilei as the founder of telescope. But it turns out this books gives me so many new scientist name and knowledge like when is the planet founded. what is nebula is. what is the black and white holes. I am also doesn't know before that Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein that having contributed into the astrophysics before i thought their invention is not related with astronomy before

one of my concern is there is such a little inspiring women indeed who participated in Astronomy (only three to four women in this books) i am a little bit sad about that but hey we have Marie Curie as the founder about the radiation. am i right?

Thankyou Big Bad Wolf Jakarta 2020!

If you learn best from college textbooks, this one has you covered. Not for me, though.

The book has organized the information in a beautiful and practical way. It is easily digestible and broadens the mind. Taking notes has been easy as most of the information is organized in a note taking style. The glossary at the end of the book really helps.

Audio. I'm sure it's great, but I don't think it translates to audio that well. I mean...if you have ever dreamed of someone reading out an encyclopedia to you then this is it. The first half is especially fragmented in this sense. However, the structure is actually pretty interesting with focus on what came before and after certain discoveries or scientists. Some of the more modern concepts made that nice "woooosh" sound as they flew right past my ability to understand them. Maybe there was too much focus on the people of astronomy for it to count as "simply explained". So.. try the paper version.
