THAT WAS THE SWEETEST BOOK EVER?? i loved the characters and plot so much they were all very entertaining! the representation of not only the main characters but the side characters was also amazing! i loved nati's development. she was so amazing at the end. i didn't like her much at first because she felt very i'm-too-good-for-you and made a few comments to william that made me sad for him. thats the reason i bumped it down half a star. william on the other hand.. my BABY! he's so sweet and kind. probably going to add him to my favorite characters list. he was such a dork and i loved it. i have nothing else to say but to tell everyone to read this book RIGHT NOW ! it was so cute

Let me start this review by prefacing that I’ve always had an inclination and an appreciation for the latinx culture, more specifically, the Hispanic culture. This may have been the first time I read a novel with a Brazilian main character and it changed my perspective on the cultural difference of the latinx community in the best way.

Now the book. There aren’t many fame orientated books where the leading lady is the famous person, no less both main characters are famous and for this very reason is why I loved this book. There was no Cinderella rescuing moment, it was just two people who love the art they create and put into the world trying to navigate fame at such a young and fragile age. But even so, it was more than that. I loved how Nati was struggling with her identity, with her culture, her personality and what she wanted to represent. I loved how she had anxiety but it wasn’t her main characteristic and I loved how she adored her friends and her mother. For William, I love how he stuck to his roots, and how much he cared for his family while also taking on his passion. They were destined from the beginning. And whilst the fake dating brought so much angst and cute moments, they truly had fallen for one another since the beginning and it was such a pleasant read!

I decided to read this book for fun. I was pleasantly surprised by the story. It was so charming. Before I knew it, I had shed a little tear for the protagonist. What I loved was the fact that the main character grew and took positive steps forward, despite the unusual challenges she faced. Her love interest was endearing and quite likable. I was glad to see them come to some sense of resolution.

I didn't feel a connection to the characters or their love story. Also, the fmc really irritated me with how mean she was to William.

3.5 - an entertaining YA fake dating romance between a Brazilian pop star/singer songwriter and an up and coming British actor trying to garner positive social media attention. Light hearted on the surface this book also touched on identity issues and being true to yourself as Natalie struggles to be a Latina in an entertainment industry that keeps trying to whitewash her image. William, a bisexual teen was a super sweet book boyfriend just trying to make money to support his large family. Feelings get real quickly between the two but Natalie has to figure out whether fame or love matters most and whether she can possibly have both.
