This book had made me rethink a lot of things in my life. But more importantly, it gives me a drive to do more, to do better.

I see a lot of myself in this author. I could easily follow a lot of the paths she took if I was not the way I was. And that is not necessarily a bad thing. We are made up of the things we experience. Her experiences have been things I longed for, things I want to do but do not have the courage to do. Or that I am restricted from because of religious choices. It was enlightens to read about her life. And it is encouraging me to live my life and have my experiences. Not only because I want them, but because, in the future I wasn’t to use them to help other people.

I want to be for others what Nichole Perkins has been for me. Thank you. I have read your story and I appreciate the courage it took to write it and the wisdom you have passed to me.

I loved this memoir! She seemed open, vulnerable and relatable. I appreciate her for sharing her truths. It’s a good addition to the diversity of Black women’s stories/memoirs that have been published in past 10 years.

Smart, fun collection. Perkins is incredibly honest and introspective on her personal intersection of womanhood, Blackness, sex, desire, advocacy and agency.

This was a very well written memoir/essay collection. I have followed Nichole online for a while now, but this was the first of her books that I have read. I chose to listen to the audiobook and am glad that I did, as it is Nichole herself that narrates it! I have always loved it when books are narrated by the author.
The stories within this book were both moving and funny, serious and lighthearted. The perfect balance of stories and anecdotes, if you ask me!

Finally, a book where a Black woman is actually talking about sex! I loved how quick this read was.
