I adored this novella! I'm such a sucker for relationships that start with written correspondence in historical romances, and it was done SO well here! This also has huge Gothic/beauty and the beast vibes which was delightfully fun. I can't wait to continue on with this series and also read more of this author.

~Tropes~
- Written Correspondence
- Scarred Hero
- Smart Heroine
- Gothic Vibes (moors, castle, beauty and the beast feels)
- stuck in a big castle with only a duke
- he falls first and HARD

This is a steamy historical romance, but it's pretty low spice overall (1 scene that's not too explicit).

An entertaining tale of a lonely Duke and his correspondence with Gwen, a scribe in his solicitors’ chambers.
A year of exchanging letters brings them close but meeting in person will be a shock.

This is more fairy tale than historical romance, with some rather modern sensibilities. It is an enjoyable read and Edward is a compelling character.
