So good, but incredibly dark. Definitely not for the faint hearted. Themes of child molestation and satanic rituals. You've been warned!!

Dark Places is one of the best mystery books I've ever read.

Throughout the book, I kept trying to guess who was the murderer, but I was wrong every time. The writing was superb, the characters felt so realistic that I had to keep reminding myself that it was a fiction, that it didn't actually happen, as I read this.

Libby, the main protagonist, was full of flaws and a pretty much an unlikeable person, but I think she was a great main character for kind of book it is.

The journey slowly unraveling the mystery as you read was amazing.

My only regret is not reading it any sooner.

3.5/5 - I liked the coincidences within this book, but it felt like there were too many.

So sad. I’m not sure I would recommend this to anyone. It’s told very well, but I hate to see animals get hurt, so that makes me not want to recommend it. That’s it. Those few paragraphs that I skipped were worth reading the entire thing though. Poor Libby, I’m glad she’s a character in a book and not in the real world.

DNF half way through. Hated all Of the characters. I felt underwhelmed and bored.

Dnf @ 43%

Another book where you think you have it all figured out but you are oh so wrong. Much darker than Sharp Objects but it was great.
