Not as much fun as the first one. Mostly because of Jerrica's let's run away attitude and I also hated the Misfits leader/singer. Dear Lord, that girl has issues.

This issue is better, and I'm not just saying it because of the Misfits. Or maybe I do. The dynamics between the characters are more approachable than I remember and the Misfits are so much fun to read. Stormer's design means the world to me (a character who has a body similar to mine and rocks it? who knew that was possible in media?!) and it's nice to see Pizzazz keeps her temper intact. It's really good to see the relationship between Kimber and Stormer is going to be respectfully developed and the chemistry between them felt very natural to me. This issue was really good and I can't wait to read more.

More of the same, see my review of the first issue. This series just keeps getting better. I cannot get enough.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite comic series out there. I didn't watch Jem growing up, and I still really enjoy what this team is doing.

oh my god??? oh my god!!!! this issue was even better than the first!! love the updated looks for the misfits, and I was practically squealing as soon as Kimber called Stormer cute and talked about wanting to date her. once they started flirting and actually went on a coffee date, I had decided I need everyone in my life to read these comics.
it's so refreshing to see lgbt+ couples depicted just as well as straight couples, and I loved that Kimber picked out Stormer as the cutest when Stormer is the largest girl in the Misfits. it's a small detail, but more than including body diversity they also show how fat bodies are appreciated and considered attractive by other members of the cast. there's no need for a "oh sweetie you're beautiful despite being fat!" moment because characters are shown finding fat characters the most attractive out of a group of skinnier women. this is very important for people, especially young fat girls, to read. they need to know that they can be seen as cute and interesting and dateable, just as much as any skinny girl in the group. I'm so glad this comic is being written and drawn by two amazing women who understand how to get these messages across without taking time away from the main story. I can't wait for the next issue!!
