Oh god this book is fun. It is the most traumatic comedy, and the funniest extreme horror / splatterpunk book you will find. Lovable (and unbearably hateable) characters fighting to the death in a grocery store. Full of puns, horrible murder, and SO much gore.

Utter chaos in the best way possible. I'm choosing to describe this as a sadistic "Superstore," on steroids. Kristopher Triana's range is impeccable, and whilst I've never read Harding before, he has made a truly memorable first impression- as this was double the fun. It seems I have missed a trick!
Now, if you have pretty much any triggers at all, shop elsewhere, because the carnage and depravity is consistent throughout. Personally, I didn't at all mind this, as it was well balanced with not only impeccable humour- but some of the greatest character development I've come across (especially in extreme horror). The Night stockers had me giggling and grimacing throughout- and was just such a fun book to complete this years reading goal with. 111!!
Fresh Way is a thriving supermarket- independently owned, with the expected workplace drama. Unfortunately for the store's (remaining) workers, Devil's Food- ran be former Fresh Way assistant manager Desmond Payne- has just set up shop.. and this town is not big enough for the both of them. Considering Devil's Food only employs ruthless killers and Satanists, when Desmond finds his franchise is not performing as well as others- he has no qualms in eliminating the competition. When the asshole manager of Fresh Way insists all the employees, work a gruelling night shift in order to ensure the store is ship-shape, in light of the new competition.. Devil's Food is planning an attack. It quickly escalates further into a blood-bath of a fever dream, that will leave you sweating buckets.
To finish off, The Night Stockers most certainly doesn't take itself too seriously- I'm not quite sure it will someday become a classic, but if you go in with no expectations and just enjoy it for what it is.. you'll come out a satisfied customer

I was stalking deep waters of Goodreads recommendation when The Night Stockers showed up. A story about Satanists killing a group of grocery mall workers? Count me in! And I was not disappointed. This is a genuine gory black comedy with tones of horror. Heads are popping, limbs are flying, and babies are being .... aborted? I really enjoyed my time with the book, albeit short as it was. I usually give these tasty "one-night read" books three stars, but The Night Stockers deserve much more. I would still prefer a longer buildup, but I can see how this would be hard to fit into this slasher. I will try to find more books like this from these talented authors.

A love letter to early death metal & John Carpenter, but also, SO MUCH GORE!
I'm gonna make this short, but put on some Incantation or Cannibal Corpse and get ready for a funny, very gory ride!
You can tell K.T & R.H had fun writing this, I certainly had a blast! But don't expect something deep and profound, just enjoy the ride!

I've been wanting to read this book for the longest time and wow did I have fun.
I'm all here for the Ruby, Stephanie and Antonio trio.
(not giving it 5 stars because of the children storyline that was completely unnecessary and gross, even for a splatterpunk some stuff are just a big no and this is one of the cases.)
