The Darkest Corners tells of the persevering Tessa, returning to her hometown in Pennsylvania causing to meet the familiar Greenwoods family, all while bearing plenty of unanswered enquiries regarding her circumstance, in her heart. In a nutshell, this book embodied Tessa's wild way of figuring out the truth about both of her absent mother and sister with the help of her loving Gram, her childhood friend, Callie and others.

The book uses the protagonist's, Tessa, perspective in narrating the entire events. I couldn't classify this book as a suspense novel but one will get hooked to finishing it, no doubt. Kara Thomas was spectacular when she wrote this and addressed a serious criminal topic, (view spoiler) that intertwined with Tessa's messy juvenescence. This book rarely is emotive and I appreciate that. Its ending closed the deal for me to review it as a satisfying worthy read. The Darkest Corners will definitely not waste anyone's time.
