Fear Street #130

This will be my last 'Ghosts' book and I'm happy it's one I really enjoyed. The two part "Horror Hotel" story that closes the series is unavailable at a reasonable price right now and I'm ready to move on, lol.

'Attack of the Vampire Worms' was hinted at in 'I Wad a Sixth-Grade Zombie' (Ghosts #30) as an episode of 'Strange Cases' was about the intrepid agents battling albino fanged worms - or something like that. That's pretty sneaky ghostwriters, but I like it.

Jane O'Neill takes a bet that mean old Miss Woodley is not a witch and has to follow her around to prove it. She drags her best friend Lewis Unger along to bear witness to her...following an old lady. Kids these days! The two follow her deep into the Fear Street Woods and witness her digging holes. Surely, it's buried treasure! This is especially certain, because when Miss Woodley catches them spying on her she gets real mad!

Fleeing, the two trip over an embankment and discover a creepy cave. The cave is deep and has several species that have evolved to live in the near-total darkness. Jane thinks she hears voices. Then, Lewis falls into a pool and is covered in worms sucking on his skin! He doesn't even notice them until Jane starts picking them off. There's more down there in the dark, but I won't spoil the fun. This was cool and I would have loved it as a kid.
