I'm bailing on this one. I was on board with the story until the al-Qaeda subplot was introduced. I'm pretty sure continuing it will leave me cranky and annoyed, and life is too short to read murder mystery fluff involving al-Qaeda. Maybe I'll come back to it in the future when (hopefully) Islamic terrorism won't be such an overdone subject.

Did not expect the level of suspense...definitely grabbed my attention and didn't let it go. This was even after I was annoyed at the way he treated all readers as though they had no idea how government functioned. Dirksen, Russell, and Hart are more familiar to the average American than you'd think..
Good story, captivating plot, will look for his next book!

Too many plot lines and characters in the book. They kind of tie together at the end but throughout the book I kept asking-who is this person again? The plot line seemed formula and the "suspenseful" ending wasn't any great surprise.

There are a couple of stories running through this book. Phillip Margolin keeps you guessing how they are all related. A murderer escapes from jail, terrorists are planning to blow up a football stadium. There are new twists and turns every chapter.
Phillip Margolin is an excellent writer, and if you like his writing, you will enjoy this book.
