This was fun! The Fourth Doctor, Romana, K-9, like visiting with old friends. Adams's humor comes through clearly. Glad I read this.

James Goss (care of Douglas Adams) has improved on the original (Life the Universe and Everything) and crafted a very Whovian tale.

While Arthur Dent is the great observer, the fourth Doctor is a more credible agent to discover the puppet masters behind the Krikkitmen. And Romana is a brilliant foil (hats off to the editorial preference of her over Sarah Jane).

Also legitimacy is added by Gaiman's Doctor's Wife, with similar themes represented here.

A brilliant, witty space adventure.

This feels like a Elseworld retelling of Life, The Universe and Everything except with a competent person involved in the story. And The Doctor is also there.
