Oooh I loveeeed this. Nya and Johan are such lovely, complex characters who also are so kind to each other. 

I’ve read a fake dating romance before, but this one did a good job zigging when another book would zag. So many times when a “why didn’t they just talk!!?” Moment could happen and yet it didn’t! And it worked! 

I remember trying to read A Princess in Theory years ago and I couldn’t get into it. I’m gonna retry now though because I feel attached to this world and its characters.

I really liked the trope of playboy with a heart of gold and the side character of Jojo’s nonbinary sibling. Nya is one of my favorite characters of the series, too, and I’m glad she got her own book, and we got to follow her as she wrestled with her feelings about her abusive father.
