I got this book as a gift from a blind book pick and i wasn't sure at first about it but I loved it. Kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want to put it down.

This was good, it just takes awhile to get there. I will say, having watched the movie first, things are pretty different in the book. The book has a few more twists and that made it more interesting. Plus, because they are pretty different, I don’t feel anything was spoiled. The book did have, what I personally thought, were some plot holes, but everything seemed to work itself out. The characters were okay, but I can’t say any of them were really memorable. If I had to choose, I’d take the book for plot and the movie for pacing.

I'm sure I would have liked this book better if I liked hiking or mountain climbing. Still, it was a pretty good read.

The women in this book were clearly written by a man who believes women are weak. It is so annoying and frustrating.
The author clearly bit off more than he could chew; he set up so many stories and characters, and then proceeded to forget these set ups throughout the entire body of the book. He then proceeded to try to wrap everything up in one, exposition filled, chapter at the end. I would not recommend anyone read this book, because the synopsis was the most exciting part.
