This book was sinfully sexy, instantly addictive and has a sexy hot alpha male. I was scared to read this book because I thought there would be too much sex and not enough story but was so totally wrong there. This book had the perfect balance of Alpha male, steaminess and realness and I really enjoyed this book.

What struck me is how well K. Bromberg wrote the right level of steaminess and story, it was nicely balanced. There was a perfect amount of alpha and he brought Rylee out of her shell. It was well-written and well-paced with the right level of push and pull to keep your hopes soaring and your heart wrenching during every delectable minute of this story.

Rylee is a good girl in all the ways possible and when the very famous race car racer and playboy slams into her life in all literal sense, she is knocked off her feet in the literal and figurative sense. Especially after the crush of his lips on her without her permission and very unwelcome. She is a real challenge to him. With his arrogance and sinful sexiness left her breathless and what he told her what he would do to her left her running from him, but somehow destiny wanted them together. He tricked her into having a date with her to prove something to her after all she is real challenge for him and he will make her HIS.

“You know that deep down, a tiny part of that proper, respectable woman you are, wants to visit that reckless, sexy, uninhibited place inside you that’s begging to get out. A place I can undoubtedly help you find.”

Rylee is not that kind of girl and we will learn more about her struggles in the book. The story is told in her point of view and we learn in her past why she isn’t fully living and doing things that will make her love her life. She can’t stay away from Colton but she is fully aware of all the women he had in the past and she does not want to be another notch on his bedpost. She can’t help but be drawn to him, imagine how his touch ignites her and be affected by him.

Colton Donovan. An arrogant, alpha, reckless and trouble. Her is the kind of guy that uses the girl and leave them when his done with them. He is not the falling in love type. But when curly-haired, curvaceous and fiery Rylee Thomas barrels into his life, he too is unexpectedly unsettled and with every push of hers, he can’t help but pull her in. It’s not until Colton shows her some kindness that she gives him an honest chance to be with her. When Colton and Rylee are together, desire burns brightly, all senses blown asunder. But Rylee quickly learns the tough lesson that despite the undeniable attraction between them, she just isn’t the type to leave emotions behind and Colton clearly articulates that he is hardly the guy to give her anything more.

“The man is captivating in every way and the epitome of sexy. From that boyish grin that disarms me in seconds to his sexy swagger that says he knows exactly where he’s going and what his intentions are. He exudes virility, evokes desire, and commands attention all with a single look from his stunning eyes. He’s edgy and reckless and you want to go along for the ride hoping to get a glimpse of his tender side that breaks through every now and again. The bad boy with a touch of vulnerability who leaves you breathless and steals your heart.”

When she starts falling for him she tries to change him in away try to figure out what happened to him in the past why he never loves. She believe he needs to be loved and he believes he will hurt all those who try and get close to him. That is what he does to her when she saw only a glimpse of his actually feelings that he is good at hiding. He saw that she saw his feelings and he hurt her. The book ended in a cliff-hanger so you need to read the next book to see what will happen. Will Colton learn to open his heart or will he push Rylee away again? She knew he would break her heart but she still went for him.

“I bet he fucks like he drives— a little reckless, pushing all the limits, and in it until the very last lap.”

I didn’t fall in love with Driven because Colton is a race car driver… I fell in love with Driven because of Rylee and her fight for a new home/center for the boys that she oversees, her determination to not be inconsequential to Colton and her strength to want more from him.
Colton is a player… p-l-a-y-e-r… he has a bevy of women and likes it that way. Does not want or need a relationship or anything else from a woman than a good time. Love `em and leave `em.

They’re introduced at a fundraiser when he saves her from a locked closet. The chemistry is there the moment she falls into his arms. But they both have pasts that haunt them. For her it’s the loss of her husband and child, for him it’s a bad childhood that has him swearing off needing or wanting anything more from a woman.

This book… full of tension and angst… while Rylee is trying to move on from her past, Colton won’t let go of his. I have read other books with the similar theme, but this book captured my attention because of how quickly Rylee was established to be a strong woman willing to fight for Colton and what she wants.

I have to admit it took me a while to read this book because I knew it was part of a trilogy and I honestly was tired of cliffhangers and trilogies and alpha-males… but by the end of the book, I was hooked and quite ticked at Colton.

2.5⭐ and that's being generous.

This has all the trappings of FSoG but is also somehow worse?

I was recommended this by a friend who adores it, read it multiple times, but nope. Not for me. I would love to believe it gets better... But having to slog through 3 more of these to get there makes me want to 🤮

First of all let me say this book is not an HEA. It ends abruptly to I assume pick up in the next book which works really well because I am invested into these characters so I will get the second book. This book is full of twists and turns with each character. I don't think that "Ace" knows how to deal with his emotions and it really plays out in the book. Especially since "Ryles" is so damaged, they are both judging with out talking it out. The chemistry is off the charts. Like I said I will be reading the second book :)

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

I knew right off that I was going to love this book. The cover is hot, the blurb sounded fabulous, and I am a huge fan of sports romance stories! Not only do I love a good sports romance, but since I grew up around racing, I'm always a huge fan of a hot guy who knows how to handle himself on a track! After reading Driven, I can tell you that I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Colton. I loved this first book in the trilogy and I cannot wait to get the rest of his and Rylee's story!

Rylee Thomas is a girl who has suffered a terrible loss. After a horrible accident, she loses her fiance and must learn how to start living again. While working an event to raise money for an organization that she works for, she meets Colton. Although the two of them get off to a rough start, the attraction is instant and is more than either of them can fight. They share a passionate kiss and Colton is determined to have his way with Rylee. However Rylee is not your average girl that is content to spend the night with a hot guy and no string attached. She is not the type to have a one night stand and give up all control to a man. Colton is not used to being told no, and he doesn't intend to let Rylee be the one to do it either. As the two of them begin working together and spending time with each other, the chemistry and attraction is combustible. Colton and Rylee cannot stay away from each other, but can they possible have any kind of future together when Colton doesn't do commitment and Rylee doesn't do casual?

Wow...Colton. What can I say? Colton is hot and sexy and slightly damaged from a horrible past that he has kept a secret from everyone he knows. He has a reason for keeping his relationships short, and without emotion. I really loved that despite wanting to keep Rylee at a distance, he wasn't quite able to. For someone who constantly tries to keep everyone at arms length he would open up to Rylee in small ways. I also really liked when he would do something extremely sweet for Rylee or the boys that she works with through her job. It was great to see Colton really start to get to where he was able to realize that even though he would like to keep things with Rylee the same as he always has, he just wasn't able to. I also really liked Rylee. I found her to be exactly the type of heroine that I root for. She was smart and sweet and a bit feisty! I loved that she didn't just give in to everything that Colton was asking for and that she really stayed true to herself. She might not be able to stay away from Colton, but she also had no problem calling him out or putting him in his place either. Colton and Rylee are absolutely steamy together! They are perfect for each other, and I think that they really help balance the other out. Watching them begin to heal and grow together was very enjoyable.

Overall, I loved this book! K. Bromberg is an excellent writer and has really created a ton of fantastic characters. Besides loving Rylee and Colton, I also really loved the secondary characters as well! Rylee's roommate and best friend Haddie is so much fun, and I really liked reading the scenes between her and Rylee. If I have any criticism at all with this book, there were only a few things that bothered me. There was a quote in the book that I felt was very close to a well known and loved book. That sort of threw me off a little, and I didn't quite know how to take it. Also, this book ends rather abruptly with a huge cliffhanger. I know that we are getting two more books, but it was so shocking that I didn't want to wait one second before diving into the next story! I had to know what happens next. I cannot wait to see where the rest of this series goes, and more importantly get the rest of Rylee and Colton's story. This book is seriously hot, and the sex scenes are off the charts! If you are a fan of romance and steamy scenes, this is definitely a book you wont want to miss!
