I’m so happy to be continuing on the journey from the animated series to Korra. This graphic novel asked some difficult questions about colonization and appropriation. I had a really tough time picturing Aang and especially Katara calling each other “sweetie.”
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Racism, Confinement, and War
Moderate: Colonisation, Fire/Fire injury, Toxic relationship, Murder, Violence, and Cultural appropriation
Minor: Death and Forced institutionalization

highly recommend reading this if you've finished the show! it dives deeper into the aftermath and perhaps unanswered questions that the show didn't address
i love the fact that there was still so much that hadn't been solved after the hundred year war ended. loved the fact that it picked up exactly where the show ended. however, i wasn't a huge fan of aangs promise to zuko and how it escalated, idk it felt like the relationship had backtracked a bit
also the intro 😭💗
Graphic: Violence, Colonisation, Racism, and War
Moderate: Fire/Fire injury and Toxic relationship
