So I've reached the end of this series. I'm not sure what I was expecting... but this is not it. There's nothing particularly "final" about this ending. It feels like further books could be added (not that I want them to be). I'm somewhat disappointed by this.

Kim did not disappoint. I will say that I thought that the book was slow at the beginning and then like always the story gets intense at the end and you can not put it down. In this book we learn a lot more about Violet's grandmother and her gift. We also learn more about the members of the team. I am still cautious of Dr Lee but I also like the way that the book ended with Violets decision and how she tries to protect Chelsea.
Spoiler We learn that most of the members of the team had relatives that where in the circle of 7 and group before the center. Dr Lee's father started this group but he is not in charge now. And oh my Rafe might have a budding relationship with Chelsea. I am happy for Rafe though because he deserves happiness even if it is not with Vi.
Oh one more thing I think my favorite character is Jay, he is such a great guy, I wish I can find someone like him, even if he is fictional.

I've read this series for a while and I have started to detect a certain pattern....here's a brief overview. Violet senses a dead body. Jay tells her to trust others to handle it. Violet is dumb and goes to handle it herself, putting herself in grave danger. She survives. Jay and her kiss. They kiss some more. The killer targets more people, and is usually gravely psychotic. Something drastic happens. Violet goes to save they day. Something else happens. The killer is caught, Violet is fine. Jay and Violet kiss again.

I just summed up the whole series..but then again...it's still good. While the books follow the same path and have become very predictable, it's hard to pull yourself away. For one, Violet and Jay are too dang shmexy to resist. Really one of my favorite fictional couples (Jay is too cute). Also, The killers are CrEePy. No joke, every time you hear from their point of view, you get chills. They are very sick and twisted. And deranged. And then you almost, ALMOST, start to feel sorry for them. It's very gross and confusing and addicting. Each killer gets more and more weird and scary. Each book becomes more and more intense. The overarching plot is thickening, and we're finally getting the answers we so crave.

It's moving from just being about Violet finding dead bodies, and it's progressing to what she wants to do with that ability, the limitations she has, and how the past affects the future. There are a lot of interesting revelations and discoveries Violet makes, and it adds to the mysterious aura of impending doom. I think the series will soon turn into a much more interesting direction, rather than just random killers.

However, for now, Violet needs to stop being dumb and actually listen to the people around her for once. Honestly, she doesn't have the best decision making skills. She's constantly running into dangerous situations head first even after 4 books of being abducted and tortured, and putting her loved ones in danger. (Poor Jay is at his wits end). The books also need to become less predictable, although the intensity and horror factor are still fantastic.

It is definetly one of my favourite books, but i hate that the ending leaves you hanging. I want to know what happens to Rafe and I'd like a sneak peak in the future were violet is now married with Jay(which I'm sure they will) and the story telling beside that was flowless.

Ok so again a few problems that made me give it 3 stars.

SPOILER ALERT!!! THE WHOLE REVIEW!!! DON'T READ IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!

First, she finds out about how all her teammates had someone in their family who used to work as a team for the same people they do now and it doesn't really go to much into it. It could have been an awesome background on their parents and grandparents but she just finds out and that's the end of that.

Second it mentions that the people she's working her won't let her quit but you never really find out who they are, what they want, or why their doing this. So another huge loose end.

And last, the bad guy in this was so uninteresting. I thought that when it explained the crime scene and everything that they'd be interesting but seriously. Ugh. Bad idea. Also I hated that we kinda knew what was going to happen because she put it in the beginning of the book. I don't like it when authors do that.

I did like that Violet finally started asking people for help and back up and didn't do everything by herself. I also loved the echoes in this one specifically the kaleidoscope of colors one it was beautiful. And I loved that she finds out more about how to use her powers because she reads her grandmothers diary. Great add in.

More Violet finding herself than mystery and thank goodness no real love triangle. Didn't really feel like the end of the series but I can live with how Violet's story ended.

The book itself was great, but the ending left way too many lose ends. Like through the last 2 books Rafe has been interested in Violet but nothing happened there, Chelsea knows and may or may not be of interest to the Dr., and still the Circle could be a bad organization but nothing comes of it? It seems like there's a whole other book work of lose ends to tie up.

So I really liked this...but the ending left a lot to be desired and there are no more books.

Although it can not be denied that I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dead Silence, Kimberly Derting did not exactly provide a conclusion to The Body Finder series. I was left thinking, "Is that really the ending? Is a fifth book going to be published?"
